Membership Rules

* Legal I.D. & membership card required for admission to the Pour House.
* Members and their guests 21 years old and above only will be admitted.
* Illegal drugs of any kind are NOT allowed in or around the Pour House.
* Alcohol not purchased at the Pour House is not allowed in or around the Pour House.
* No open alcohol containers will leave the Pour House.
* No loitering around the building following the close of business.
* Violent and obstructive behavior will not be tolerated.
* Firearms, knives, and weapons of any kind are not allowed in or around the Pour House.
* Membership is nontransferable and nonrefundable.
* Membership may be cancelled at any time.
* The Pour House reserves the right to remove and/or refuse admission without notice to anyone at anytime.
* The Pour House will prosecute rule violators to the fullest extent of the law.

Why do I need a membership?

In order to obtain a full ABC permit we had to become a "private" club.
For those of you who don't understand the ABC laws, here is the skinny.

In order to sell liquor in North Carolina, an establishment must either
a) have 30% food sales
or
b) become a private club.

Since we do not have a kitchen, we decided to choose option B.

How do I become a member?
Fill out a membership application at the door, at the bar, or
Fill out, print, and bring it with you to the doorman.

Applications are also available at the bar.

1) How do I get a membership?

2) I filled out a membership but never received my card?

Pick it up the next time at the bar. We DO NOT mail out membership cards. You must wait 3 days from the time you apply to pick up your membership card - now you are official!

3) Do I have to pay a cover charge as a member or why do I have to pay a cover charge if I'm a member?

Yes, you still pay a cover charge.
Cover charge goes to pay the band, not the Pour House.
The membership entitles you to enter the bar any night we don't have bands FREE of charge.
It allows you to escape the $1 guest fee all others must pay when they enter.

4) How many guests can I bring in with me?

As many as you want.
All you have to do is sign them in as your guest and they pay an extra $1.
If they want to take the time to fill out a membership application they will become a member the next time.
So basically, you pay an extra $1 each time you come or you fill out an application and pay $1 once.
